Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The DofE (Duke of Edinburgh’s Award) is an internationally recognised scheme and is highly valued by employers.

In Year 10, students have the option to complete and achieve their Bronze Award. The award consists of four sections which need to be completed, those sections are:

  1. Volunteering – giving up time to support others
  2. Physical – a physical sport or activity
  3. Skill – improving or learning a new skill
  4. Expedition – learning new skills and applying them in overnight camping expeditions

Students of Parrs Wood Sixth Form College have the option to obtain their Silver Award in Year 12 as well. This course can help students to develop:

  • Confidence
  • Leadership Skills
  • Understanding Situations
  • Managing People
  • Better Communication
  • Sense of Community
  • Physical Ability
