City Year

For the second year running, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with ‘City Year’, a charity that aims to empower and support young people ‘to be the change they want to see’.

We are incredibly excited to work with with five new City Year Mentors and School Support Leaders as well as our Impact Officer.

City Year Mentors are between the ages of 18-25, so they’re old enough to be role models but young enough to be relatable! They provide extra capacity throughout the school day, supporting with the curriculum and working with students in lessons, running extra-curricular clubs and offering support with student wellbeing.

We are thrilled to have them here as part of Team Parrs Wood.

At City Year UK, we focus on enabling inspirational young people to volunteer in schools to support those furthest from opportunity, full-time, for a year. They are trained and coached to give much needed extra help to children who need it most. We see that by helping pupils grow, our City Year Mentors grow too. They leave as leaders, committed to social change and ready to pursue their career.
