Behaviour and Attitude
We want our students, staff and parents/carers to feel proud to be a part of our community. Each adult and student within the school, and each parent/carer in our wider community has a responsibility to ensure that all our children:
- Are safe and happy
- Are recognised as individuals
- Are treated fairly and with dignity
- Enjoy a positive and stimulating learning environment
- Experience both personal and social success
- Achieve their academic potential
We seek to promote an ethos where respectful behaviour and a positive attitude to learning is routinely celebrated and rewarded and where students develop resilience and an appreciation of the relationship between effort, commitment and personal achievement. We work with our students to help them adopt healthy lifestyle choices which enable them to nurture their physical and mental health. In addition, we embed British Values by asking our students to ensure all of their actions towards others afford them Freedom, Respect, Equality and Dignity (FRED) Bullying, peer-on-peer abuse or discrimination in any form will not be tolerated.
The Behaviour Blueprint
We recognise the importance of developing effective professional working relationships with our students and parents/carers and encourage this approach to be reciprocated. All adults in the school are expected to model the highest standards in behaviour and professionalism at all times and will utilise a range of strategies that encourage students to do the same using our Behaviour Blueprint model. Appropriate sanctions will be issued to challenge and modify behaviour that is disrespectful or not conducive to learning.
