Humanities
The History curriculum broadly explores the chronological narrative of the history and development of Britain through out time and compares with other societies through time. The Geography curriculum begins by developing a sound understanding of the UK and key Geographical skills then develops in Y8 to look at broader a global scope and in year tackling geographical debates.
The curriculum is intended to offer a challenging, aspirational and engaging experience for all learners, covering a wide variety of subject content, delivered around our three key procedural concepts: Investigate (to find out/ acquire knowledge), Evaluate (to analyse, evaluate and form judgements based on the knowledge acquired) and Elaborate (to express and present finding s and judgements supported by the acquired knowledge.
By the end of the key stage, students will have engaged with all aspects of the national curriculum and developed the relevant skills for success within the key stage and progress onto the next level.
