The BBC Phil fills Parrs Wood!

The BBC Philharmonic orchestra came to Parrs Wood to perform a series of concerts for our students exploring a very wide range of composers, genres, and musical styles. It was an incredible opportunity to have a world class orchestra perform in our school, and we were very glad to welcome several other local primary and secondary schools to share the experience.

The students heard music from all over the world from the orchestral repertoire: music from ballets, operas, musicals, and even Plants vs Zombies!

One of our year 7 students even tried his hand at conducting the orchestra – what a truly once in a lifetime experience, and one we hope to repeat again soon. We hope that continuing to expose our students to such high-quality musical experiences will foster their love of music and continue to enrich their cultural capital. Our students live in an incredibly musically rich city, and we will always encourage them to experience this as often as possible
