Resources
The school has full access to the online resource sites Gale Literature Resource Centre and Bloom’s Literature. First-time users need to visit the school library to receive login details.
LoveReading
LoveReading is the UK’s leading book recommendation website and an online bookshop with a social purpose. When you purchase a book on the site, you can choose to support Parrs Wood High School, and we will receive 25% of the purchase price as credit to spend on books for our library. You can also purchase eBooks, and 15% of the price will be donated to the school, turning online shopping into a force for good in the community. Additionally, all books are 10% off RRP.
Our school page also allows those who wish to gift a book to the school library to do so using our wishlists.
RNIB Bookshare
Students can request access to free RNIB Bookshare resources from their teacher or from library staff. RNIB Bookshare supports learners with a print disability to access the curriculum. They enable learners who cannot read standard print, including those with dyslexia or who are blind or partially sighted, to read the same books, at the same time as their peers, giving them the same educational opportunities and creating an inclusive environment in education.
