Art at Parrs Wood
Our links to, and communication with the world are becoming increasingly visual. The Curriculum uses traditional and contemporary references from art and design to develop the students’ visual awareness.
Parrs Wood's well equipt Art rooms provide activities including drawing, painting, three-dimensional work and graphic work. All parts of the courses will refer to the work of artists, designers and/or different cultures.
Art develops good skills in researching and developing an idea. In an increasingly visual world, there are many art related careers, from magazine and web design to film and theatre work.
Trips and visits are organised for different year groups including workshops at the Whitworth Art Gallery and City Gallery, and visits to London Galleries. The annual Parrs Wood Summer Exhibition is an opportunity to see for yourself the very high standard of Artwork produced by all our students.
