Student Leadership Involvement
Student leaders fulfil a number of key roles at the College from being members of the Student Council to supporting with a range of College events and activities. Our student leadership team listens to the views of all students and work in partnership with members of staff to improve the College Environment and to ensure that we, as students, have access to the facilities and resources we need to do our very best. If you choose to study at Parrs Wood we are certain you won’t be disappointed and will enjoy a happy and successful time at the College. The strong sense of community and smaller class sizes help the teachers to offer more 1-2-1 support and the relationships between students and teachers are based upon mutual respect. The teachers are really supportive and they go the extra mile to ensure that you are stretched and challenged in every subject you study.
The student population is very tightly-knit and no-one feels isolated or left out. The range of enrichment opportunities are brilliant and you are sure to find something that fits with your interests, develops important skills and makes your CV look better! Don’t worry if you don’t know what you want to do after College the teachers and Careers Service will help you to learn about different options and guide you towards different and interesting pathways.
All students who come to Parrs Wood have the opportunity to become student leaders and get involved in the wider life of the College.
"We really would like to see you starting with us next September. In the meantime, enjoy Year 11, do your best and we hope to see you soon!" - Sixth Form Head Boy and Head Girl
We are a College that never forgets or underestimates the huge importance of what we do. We feel fortunate to be given the responsibility to support, challenge and inspire so many wonderful young people at a critical phase in their lives and we pride ourselves on doing all within our power to fulfil our ultimate responsibility of supporting our student’s growth into responsible, happy and successful members of the global community. We provide an experience characterised by close and supportive relationships, which translates into a strong, tight and harmonious college community where diversity is celebrated and everyone feels valued. Our college is small enough for everyone to feel known, but big enough for everyone to thrive and meet others with similar aspirations, interests and values.
We pride ourselves on our tradition of academic success and we fundamentally see our core business as the provision of a challenging and engaging curriculum that supports all students to achieve their potential and make exceptional progress in relation to their individual starting points. We are proud of what our students achieve and we celebrate outstanding commitment, attainment and progress. The provision of highly personalised information, advice and guidance is central to the success of our students and it plays a huge role in the exceptionally high rates of students who progress to Oxbridge, Medicine, Vetinary Science and Russell Group Universities year after year.
"We are a community based upon shared aspiration, altruism and a common commitment to lifelong learning."
